P30-M entertainment and dining complex to rise in Clark

CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga February 6 (PIA) — Philippine-owned Pax Americana Food and Leisure Inc. (PAFLI) is set to build a P30-million entertainment and dining complex inside Clark Freeport.

Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President Felipe Antonio Remollo disclosed that PAFLI’s tourism-related venture dubbed “The Station” will be located along the boundaries of Ninoy Aquino Avenue and E.Quirino Street near the Parade Grounds.

It will feature boutiques, coffee shops, a jazz bar and restaurants that serve various American dishes such as steaks and burgers.

A group of Chinese investors plan to replicate at Clark’s Freeport Zone in Pampanga the famous night markets of Hong Kong, according to Peter Lee, the group’s Manila representative.

He said the group would invest about US10 Million to put up a shopping area complex with a variety of hawkers center similar to the Crown Colony’s two famous night markets: the Temple Street Night Market and the Ladies’ Market in Mong Kok.

Cathay may soon fly out of Clark

Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific, one of the world’s largest airlines, may start flying out of the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) in Clark Freeport, Pampanga.
Clark Development Corp. president and CEO Felipe Remollo said officials from the Chinese airline were in town earlier this week to discuss the possibility of daily flights from Clark.
“They are considering direct flights to Hong Kong and other cities in China. They want daily flights,” he said in an interview Thursday.

If plans push through, Cathay Pacific would be the largest airline to fly out of Clark, which is being groomed as the next premiere international gateway to replace the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Metro Manila.

CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga, Philippines — Gaining momentum towards a big bang in investments in 2012, the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) announced yesterday five major projects in the bag for next year.

CDC President Felipe Antonio Remollo said at least five major projects are expected to reinforce the Freeport’s status as the premier investment hub and tourism destination for Central Luzon.

These new projects are part of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority’s (BCDA) vision to develop Clark Freeport as “the Fulcrum of Central Luzon Development.”
